Helio Castroneves is indeed enjoying the spotlight following his victorious win in the last season of Dancing with the Stars. Since he has been awarded the mirror ball trophy, the media has been swarming all over him like crazy, and this is because of the controversy that surrounds the 32-year-old race car athlete.
Combine the fact that Castroneves recently ended his relationship with his fiancé and the rumors circulating about him sharing a romantic relationship with his dancing partner, Julianne Hough, and you’ll surely get the media’s attention.
However, the 32-year-old was still able to take time off to celebrate and announce when he and Hough will be joining the tour of Dancing with the Stars.
Castroneves threw a party that was attended by Hough and Sabrina Ryan, a crowd favorite on Dancing with the Stars’ last season. Former Dancing with the Stars participants Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin were also among a hundred friends from the show that came down to celebrate.
Castroneves made sure that the media buzz was dying out before he began celebrating. He said, “I’ve been traveling so much that I want to make sure I enjoy [the victory].”
As soon as the party was over, he flew to Indianapolis to celebrate yet again, this time in a bigger party for his Indy 500 family, to whom he owes majority of his success. Of course, following his victory, his crew took the opportunity to pick on him.
“The team was making fun of me,” he revealed. “”They said, ‘Is your head too big for your helmet? Do you need sequins on your helmet?’”
Coincidentally, Indianapolis is also the first leg of the Dancing with the Stars tour, in which audiences will again get to see Helio Castroneves on the dance floor with Julianne Hough. Other dates and locations in which they shall perform on the tour are as follows: Nashville (Jan. 19), Tampa (Jan. 21), Jacksonville (Jan. 22), Fort Lauderdale (Jan. 23), Providence (Feb. 9) and Philadelphia (Feb. 10).

In 2001, he first landed a spot in the said list, and today, his fanbase continues to grow because of his stint on Dancing with the Stars. In fact, he was once named by People the “Sexiest Speed Demon,” a name he is truly grateful for.
“It’s such an honor to be a part of the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ issue,” he said. “I can’t tell you what a compliment it is to be thought of as ****. I understand that my role on Dancing with the Stars has gotten me noticed by an entirely new audience, but it’s also nice to know that going 200 mph for a living is also considered a glamorous job. It’s fun to be recognized not only for my career racing cars, but also my moves on the dance floor!”
Moreover, his fellow racers including those on the NASCAR side are in full support of Castroneves. He said, “More importantly, they’re voting. It’s great when you hear Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin calling you and saying, ‘We’re all supporting you and we’re here watching you every Monday.’ It’s fun to have this kind of friendship and this kind of support.”
In the last episode of Dancing with the Stars, Helio Castroneves made it into the final four. Hopefully he has enough charm to make it to the top, as he dances his way with the stars.

Dancing with the Stars sent home a couple tonight, leaving only four more to battle it out on the dance floor. Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts were surprised to hear that they were saved, despite garnering the lowest points last night. Apparently, they also garnered enough fan support to stay in the competition, and make it to the semi-finals next week. The massive support was probably due to Osmond’s father’s recent death, and how this had affected her performance on the celebrity dance competition.
Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough were the next to be saved, as they did very well last night, and thus was asked to do an encore of the quickstep routine that helped them garner a perfect score.
Guest performers tonight include Gloria Estefan who sang “A Bailar” from her new album, “90 Millas,” and her famous single “Conga.” World-famous choreographer and dancer, Fatima Robinson also performed on the Dancing with the Stars stage.
Aside from guest performances, Dancing with the Stars gave us a peek into the lives of the professional dancers. It’s good to see that after five seasons, they are finally given recognition after their hard work on the highly-watched show. A little revelation was made, and viewers learned that everyone thinks Edyta Sliwinska is hot.
This week, the bottom two were not revealed, but it was announced that Jennie Garth and Derek Hough are still in the competition, as well as Melanie Brown and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Unfortunately for Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska, they had the lowest combined total of votes and points, and thus was sent home tonight.
