With all the time and energy celebrities put in, I would think they’d get paid something. Or does their salaries go to charities? Even ones eliminated first work for weeks sacrifice time for this. Is is strictly for publicity?

I am sure they get paid for a certain # of weeks regardless of how many episodes they are on before they are eliminated.
I love to dance but have never watched. I think dance should be free not choreographed.

a base of $125,000 for the first two weeks of the show,” plus “about $20,000 each week after, until they are voted off,” according to the New York Post. There’s a bonus of $50,000 “[i]f the show is stretched to nine weeks — for an extra recap show.” Thus, that’s a maximum of “around $245,000 for eight weeks of work, according to the contract.”
