After announcing his participation on the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars, a distinct reality dance series that showcases paired celebrities with professional dance partners in a live competition, in front of a studio audience and the entire nation, Vincent Pastore relinquishes from the popular celebrity reality series. Not getting any younger, he easily becomes weary of the rigorous dance training, which appears to be risky for his 60-year old physique.

Pastore, an Italian American actor, was most popularly known for his portrayal of mobster characters just like his role on The Sopranos as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero. Born in Bronx, New York on July 14, 1946, he studied at Pace University for three years prior to his pursuit of acting professionally. His other credits included Goodfellas, Shark Tale. Celebrity Fit Club, and The Adventures of Pete & Pete. In addition, he is a host on the radio show The Wiseguy Show.

Last February 20, 2007, the ABC television network made public that Pastore would be joining the competition but after only a week, the notable actor withdrew from the reality dance contest, after realizing the required training and groundwork was far too taxing. Though the news is quite unfortunate for fans of “whimsical personalities” who are novices when it comes to dancing, Pastore’s withdrawal is commendable, giving the show enough time to look for a suitable substitute. With this said, avid viewers of Dancing with the Stars are on the lookout for Pastore’s replacement. But whoever will replace Pastore will have to work extra efforts to capture the hearts of the crowd, who have already favored other great dancers like 90’s hit actor Ian Ziering.

The much-awaited replacement will most likely surface by the end of the week. Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8:00 PM on ABC.

Learning to Dance Ballroom Like the Stars

Have you ever watched the show Dancing with the Stars on ABC and wished you could learn to dance just like they learned to dance? I understand completely as both my wife and I have also wondered and wished this same thing when we watched the show.

Being a man though that is not ordinary I suppose I will admit to not being ashamed to liking, ok let me be honest here, loving to be with out with my wife. Yes that means that being with your wife also can mean dancing and having a wonderful time not just being in a pub shooting pool or whatever else you like to do guys.

I realized that after watching the TV show Dancing with the Stars that is it possible to learn dancing in a better way then just going around trying to dance the way I danced in High School. It wasn’t **** nor pretty those kind of movements, and now at my age it probably isn’t that good for me either. Laugh if you may!

Now that brings up another point, the topic of being good for ones health too. I have noticed that this Show Dancing with the Stars also benefits our fitness and body shape. The Stars seem to becoming more and more fit each and every week, their shapes and sizes changing so dramatically, so quickly as I sat there on the couch eating. So who really gave it any thought that dancing The Rhumba, The Samba, The Tango, The Jive, The Waltz, The Cha Cha or The Tango could make exercise such an enjoyable experience and with such huge benefits too. Well I certainly didn’t realize it but now I am reaping the benefits.

Guys, lets get back to us, can you see yourself on the dance floor, moving to the beats of Salsa, Samba, Waltz’s and even the Tango with other guys in the room looking at you with envy? That is something that can happen to you as it is happening for me as my wife and I playfully learn to dance the Salsa using the Let’s Dance Louis DVD Set. After we get this Salsa Dance completed we have 7 other dances to learn. I think we will try learning the Latin Dances first.

Lastly, there are more benefits to this learning to dance opportunity my wife and I have ventured onto and this is the best, absolutely the best thing that happens from ballroom dancing with my wife cheek to cheek. I am pretty sure you have figured it out already, and it is that our relationship has prospered, flourished, back to the point when our time spent together was filled with passion, excitement and laughter.

Now I think that this has been an excellent investment to my future life with my wife if not the best investment of my life. Thank you “Louis van Amstel” from “Louis Lets Dance”!

Love, Prosperity and Success to All!

Wondering what the total number of viewer votes were cast during this season’s finale of Dancing with the Stars (the one that Helio Castroneves won?). It’s easy to find these numbers for American Idol, but haven’t seen anything for DwtS. Thanks!

Reality television is everywhere. It seems as though every network has at least one. When America runs out of ideas they just adapt new shows from previous British ones. After all, that is what American Idol is; an adaptation from Britain’s Pop Idol!

Very few shows promote fun and health, as they mainly focus on money and fame. Dancing with the Stars is not one of them. This article is going to show that while this show is similar in a lot of ways to other shows, it is truly headed towards a different realm.

You are probably wondering what makes Dancing with the Stars any different from shows like Date My Mom and Nanny 911? First look at the similarities. To begin with, much like American Idol, this show came from England and was first called, “Strictly Come Dancing” and it showed up during a time when television was all about using film, T.V. and sports stars for their reality shows, therefore it fit right in. America was also interested in the concept of ballroom dancing. The show is set up just like any other reality show where popularity plays a huge roll, allowing fans to vote who will stay and who will go.

A dancing show like So You Think You Can Dance helps to illustrate what sets Dancing with the Stars apart. The contestants on So You Think You Can Dance are trying to live a dream, as they are competing for so much that in the end, the reason that they dance in the first place is lost.

Very differently, the Stars show focuses on the dances and the beauty of them. They aren’t competing for money so it takes all of the pressure out of the game. They are simply there for the fun of ballroom dancing and nothing more.

Dancing with the Stars takes place in a dance theatre and has introduced ballroom dancing to adults and children all over the world. Recently, they have promoted children who take part in ballroom type of dance. The show also promotes good health, and they don’t even do it purposefully.

So many of the contestants, past and present, have lost weight and gotten into shape by ballroom dancing alone! They all credit the show for these wonderful transformations. So next time you turn on your television, ask your self what you would rather watch, a crushed dream or a football player doing the tango?

Learning to ballroom dance for me has rekindled my life long live affair with dancing. For many, learning to ballroom dance often culminates with the excitement of a performance or competition. I love the way that learning to ballroom dance makes people deal with issues deeper that just being a klutz and ends up helping them in the long run. Learning to ballroom dance is fun and should not be a painful chore. The art of learning to ballroom dance can really be as easy as walking if you are willing to put the time and effort into learning the different ballroom styles of dance.

Ballroom Dancing

Ballroom dancing is as popular as ever, with the many television shows and movies that feature dancing. Besides the valuable social benefits of dancing, your participation in a regular program of ballroom dancing will produce significant mental and physical health benefits. Ballroom dancing also goes deeper than just dancing. Because it includes so many different dances and styles it is difficult to link ballroom dance to a single history. There’s no doubt, combining grace, rhythm, timing and co-ordination, whilst making it look effortless is probably the most difficult lesson for any would-be ballroom dancer to learn. Ballroom dancing, which includes Latin or rhythm dances like Samba and Rumba, and Standard or smooth dances like Waltz and Tango, has strict rules (as anyone who watched Joey and Mario compete on Dancing with the Stars knows), and no talking.

Dancing for Fun

Dancing is fun, its great exercise and it’s better than sitting around watching TV. As any of you who have taken a group lesson from a good dance instructor, dancing is about feeling. You must learn from the basics up and there are no shortcuts to advance social dancing. Dancing is invigorating and fun and even more so with greater confidence. You should also try to dance with as many different partners as possible to enhance your dancing and practice your leading.

Taking Lessons

In my opinion, private lessons are the best way to learn to ballroom dance. This is one of the reasons that small groups or private lessons are important because the instructor can work more closely with each individual. Private lessons are more expensive but they also provide individualized attention that can greatly speed up the learning process. On the other hand, group lessons are inexpensive and are a good way to try out a variety of dances and meet new friends. Since group lessons tend to focus on steps and patterns rather than on technique, it is especially recommended that male students take a private lesson every few weeks and use that time to study the technique of movement involved, including how to effectively lead his partner through the figures taught in the group classes.

Learning to ballroom dance is a lot of fun. You can become athletically fit and have fun with romance by learning to ballroom dance. Learning to ballroom dance can add entertainment to your life, enhance your leisure time, and improve your quality of life. How about stepping out and learning to ballroom dance.
