I think that is media hype. I was watching a pageant where the girls were quizzed on current events. I am sorry, but there must be 20,000 things more important than who got bumped off dancing with the stars. Some say it is important to popular culture my question is popular to who? It is B list actors mostly sometimes not, but who will care in 6 months who won on that show?

I missed last night’s elimination show. I know Toni Braxton got voted off and I forgot which dance she did and what her scores were (I know she didn’t do the jive, but I forgot which one she did do).

And also, who was in the Bottom 2 with her? Thanks!

Looks like all the hype about Heather Mills’ inclusion on Dancing with the Stars finally reached its saturation point. Initially, people can’t get enough of Mills’ controversy, whether regarding her bitter divorce with Paul McCartney, the possibility of her leg flying off on the competition, or her ability to perform on the celebrity dance program. Mills even received a lot or praises and accolades for her willingness to dance and for serving as an inspiration for people with disabilities. However, when Mills took her rhythm on the dance floor to the airplane floor, passengers were less than ecstatic to see her groovy moves.

Mills and professional dance partner of Dancing with the Stars, Jonathan Roberts, gave a not so entertaining performance when the entertainment system died on a LA to London flight. The pair attempted to amuse themselves and the bored passengers by doing a roaming version of the fox trot on the airplane floor, sweeping through first-class to economy.

Unfortunately, her dancing efforts were simply not welcomed. Whether it’s because of the “pissed off mood” almost everyone was in, or the pair’s uncalled for performance, or just the mere fact that everyone was getting tired of Mills’ dancing hype, passengers were just not up for the free entertainment. In fact, no one even clapped or made a compliment. The plane was just filled with silence and blank stares.

Following the embarrassing incident, Mills and dancing partner got eliminated from Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, April 24.

Mills, a 39-year old native of Hampshire, England, worked as a campaigner of animal rights and several other causes.

Her charity and humanitarian efforts earned her a number of awards and recognitions like the “Children in Need” award from the International Charity Gala and a Human Security Award from the University of California, Irvine, among others.

Dancing with the Stars on ABC has become a consistent Top 5 hit for the network. It’s meteoric rise from summer afterthought to prime time juggernaut has been surprising, at least to some. Dancing with the Stars seems like a highly specific show for a highly specific niche audience. Who has ever thought to themselves, “You know what would be really cool? If they made a reality show that took professional dancers and paired them with C-List celebrities and they performed ballroom dances and I could vote on them.”

The answer is, probably, only a few heavily deranged humans. However, when Dancing with the Stars debuted almost a year and a half ago, the ratings were incredible. Americans, as history shows, never know what they want until it appears. The show was a massive hit, and not a fluke. Flukes don’t those receive the kind of ratings Dancing with the Stars receives over and over. Dancing with the Stars defied all expectations, rose from the summer scrap heaps, led by nothing more than word of mouth. The question that comes to mind, of course, is this:

Why?

Why is Dancing with the Stars a hit? Why does it appeal to so many viewers? Why does it comprise twenty percent of the Nielsen top five rated shows every week it airs.

Dancing with the Stars success has been an enigma for both the outsider and rabid viewer. Until now.

BuddyTV’s article cuts to the core of Dancing with the Star’s popularity. The conclusions as to why Dancing with the Stars is a hit may surprise you. Do people watch Dancing with the Stars to see the beautiful dancers, like Willa Ford, Mario Lopez, Vivica A. Fox, and Joey Lawrence? Not quite.

Dancing with the Stars status as a top 5 hit isn’t random, as it may seem to an outsider. The performance of Dancing with the Stars is actually predictable, once you delve deep into its nature and the different components of the show, as BuddyTV does.
