Dance sport, after all, is already an event in the *** Games, the world’s largest sporting event organized by LGBT athletes, set up in 1982. However, this has not reached American shores until late 2007 when the North American Same-Sex Partner Dance Association (NASSPDA) was born. The NASSPDA is a non-profit membership organization which seeks to provide “consistent standards, guidelines, definitions for same-sex competitions and the coordination of scheduling and dissemination” for competitive and social same-sex ballroom dancing in North America .
While there may be some who are initially averse to the idea, there are those who point out that American television has grown exponentially open to *** culture than, say, ten years ago. And while the memorable Dancing with the Stars performance was an accidental comic relief more than anything, it did present the potential of *** ballroom not only as entertaining but more so as a serious variation of the sport.

Despite his delight on watching the show and in supporting costar Ziering in his performance, he maintains that he won’t be dancing on the popular program any time soon as he is stirring away from reality based shows.
As for Spelling, it seems like she clearly sees what Ziering meant when he stressed that his participation on the show is a once in a life time opportunity that should not be put to waste, as she has already eagerly pursued the spot.
Observably, Dancing with the Stars has often featured at least one “controversial” personality every season. Last season 4, the program has included Heather Mills in the height of her divorce with Sir Paul McCartney.
In the upcoming season, many believe that “Scary Spice” will be taking Mills ’ spot. The 32-year old pop singer and songwriter is currently going through a high profile battle with actor Eddie Murphy.

Since the movie is dedicated to dance, the moves in the movie are breathtakingly sensual and the same has been replicated in the theatre version of the story.
In Australia the show has already enjoyed runaway success. The shows were consistently sold out for the entire period of 14 months. In London too, if advance bookings are any indications, the show would be spectacularly successful and stampedes are predicted at the entrance gate of the theatres!
Dirty Dancing tickets are on sale now for London shows at the Aldwych Theatre. Preview shows begin from 29th September with Dirty Dancing the Musical having a grand opening on 24th October.

Spice Girl Melanie Brown has grown to be a favorite during the past season of Dancing with the Stars, despite not winning the ultimate prize of the mirror ball trophy. However, she was able to garner numerous fans after her hard work on the show. In fact, despite most of our BuddyTV poll respondents thinking that Helio Castroneves did deserve to win, 30% still believed that Melanie Brown should have bagged the prize.
Surely, what’s a Spice Girl to do but pass it on to her wonderful 8-year-old daughter, who seems to be following in her steps. Brown revealed that during the rehearsals for the Spice Girls reunion world tour, her daughter, Phoenix has been enthusiastically mimicking her mother’s dance routines.
” Phoenix has been learning routines at the Spice Girls rehearsals,” Brown said proudly. “She’s got the dance fever!”
Phoenix is Brown’s daughter with her previous husband, Jimmy Gulzar, a dancer for the 1998 Spice Girls world tour. Now we’re not surprised where Phoenix ’s ‘dance fever’ is coming from, and it from both parents who have worked hard in the entertainment industry.
Of course, Brown admitted that the Spice Girls’ dance numbers may not have the same level of difficulty and grace as the complicated steps she had to learn during her sting on Dancing with the Stars.
“Well, the Spice Girls performed routines for six-year-olds,” she said. “Everyone can do it!”
Despite just coming close to winning in the finals of Dancing with the Stars, her fellow Spice ladies were very supportive of her. Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell posted on the group’s blog, “She SO should have won… I’m very disappointed. But we are all so incredibly proud of her. You’re a winner to us Mel!”
This is the end for Melanie Brown’s stay on Dancing with the Stars, and a lot of us are proud of her for sticking through the competition. Fans need not worry, however, for they will see more of the dancing pop star as she goes on tour with the Spice Girls. That is, if they are lucky to get their hands on a ticket for the concert. Tickets have flown off the stores, with a 38-second sell-out for the first London date announced. Their first stop on the tour happens in Vancouver tonight.
